Percocet is a brand name of a drug which is formed by mixing oxycodone and acetaminophen. It is a painkiller that belongs to a drug family of opioids. Oxycodone is an opioid painkiller and Acetaminophen is a non-opioid painkiller. Acetaminophen present in the percocet can also help to reduce fever. 

Percocet is prescribed to the patients who are suffering from pain whether it is a body pain or broken bone pain.  

Percocet belongs to a part of drug family opioids. Opioids are the strongest medication used to treat pain. They are the drug family which works by attaching to the opioid receptors present in body areas including neurons of the brain, gastrointestinal tract and spinal cord.
